Falmouth have been without star first team player Matt Brewer since his injury in the Eagles' loss against Wadebridge last month.

But the injury for 33 year-old, who can play in both the forwards and the backs, is not as bad as first feared.

It was thought that Brewer would have to undergo surgery after a scan revealed that he had ruptured his hamstring, however that is no longer the case.

“They have decided I don’t need an op but instead just extensive Physio,” he said.

“It’s feeling better and I’m walking around now and I’m hoping to be back before the end of the season.”

The Eagles have been riddled with injuries so far this season with Tommy Tonkins also currently out injured with a tear in the AC joints within the shoulder.

However, things look to be on the up with Brewer potentially in action again at the back end of the season and Tonkins expecting to be back playing in the next two weeks.
