Falmouth were beaten by an impressive Paignton side last Saturday who move to ninth place in the league with Falmouth in 13th.
Tries from Henry Hoare and Joel Taylor Mike Sandercock for the home side gave Paignton the winning points.
Despite Falmouth’s early lead and two man advantage in the second half they could not pull back the points.
Falmouth began the scoring within the first two minutes after a penalty for offside gave Justyn Irons the chance to put the first points on the board which he did with ease from straight in front of the posts.
But Paignton hit back only five minutes later to level the scores at 3-3 When Sandercock converted a penalty from a similar position to Irons’.
The Eagles were close to taking another three point lead in the 16th minute however Iron’s long ranged penalty clattered the upright and bounced back into play.
And in the 20th minute Paignton took the lead through Henry Hoare after Olly Higg’s darting run through the Falmouth defence took him close to the line for Henry Hoare to pick from the ruck and dive over the posts. Sandercock converted making it 10-3 to the home side.
Irons had another chance to put another three points on the board but his kick from halfway was just left of the posts.
Paignton then went further ahead through another Sandercock penalty after Falmouth were penalised at the ruck which made the scores 13-3.
Before halftime the home team scored their second try of the game to make it 20-3 after Mark Palk’s break and well-timed pass found Taylor who ran through unchallenged just left of the posts before Sandercock’s conversion.
Only minutes after the break a lapse in concentration allowed Sandercock to pick from a ruck and dance his way over the line before he converted to make it 27-3.
Falmouth scored their first try of the game in the 54th minute after Paignton lost two men to the sin bin, Lee Humphreys with a superb pass to find Seb Firth who just barely managed to get the ball down before going into touch to add five points at 27-8.
Neither side were able to secure another score despite heavy Falmouth pressure however tempers continued to fly with Falmouth also losing a man late on into the match.
