Falmouth II put in a strong performance against an unbeaten Launceston side in the Duchy League fixture on 17th February.

Making a strong start centre Oscar Gay scored an outstanding individual try running in from the half way line. Shortly after half time he added a second after a good run by Luke Osborne and then his fellow centre Olly Jones added a third making the score 19-13 to Falmouth half way through the second half.

However Launceston came back strongly and scored under the posts to take the lead at 19- 20.

The game went into the last 10 minutes evenly poised but a yellow card and tiring legs saw the visitors score two late tries to run out winners 19-32.

However this was a gutsy performance by a young Falmouth side who had lost heavily in the reverse fixture earlier in the season and special praise should go the forward pack who stuck at their task against a bigger more experienced eight.
