You may or not be aware, this Thursday at 10am at County Hall, Truro there is a planning meeting being held by the strategic planning committee where PA16/08236 or the plan for Menehay Farm will be discussed and approved or rejected. We need planning permission on Menehay Farm for the developers to agree to buy the land from us.
This meeting is pivotal for the future direction of Falmouth RFC, many of you will have put huge effort into plans surrounding Menehay over the years. If approved we move into an entirely new financial platform, if rejected we face another battle to go to appeal, with a real risk to our future, as we still have significant debt to repay.
I will be speaking on behalf of the plan, along with 1 other from our partners at Devon and Cornwall housing or Westcountry Land, opponents to the plan will also speak and the Councillors vote on whether to approve or reject.
We need support at the meeting, Councillors do not like being faced down by the public, if we have significant support from the club and community, it puts pressure on those present, as they will have to publicly voice opposition and justify it in front of local voters.
If you support the club's plan can you please make every effort to attend County Hall at 10am this Thursday..
